Privacy Policy

Canadify is built to collect as little as possible. Your scores, inputs, and progress live on your device, and you don't need an account to use the app. Here's exactly what that means.

This Privacy Policy explains how Canadify ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Canadify mobile application and this website (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

The short version: No account is required. Your CRS inputs, CELPIP responses, and progress are stored on your device. We use privacy-respecting analytics to improve the app, and AI grading sends the text you submit to our AI provider to generate feedback.

Information we collect

We designed Canadify to work without you creating an account or giving us your name, email, or contact details. The information involved falls into three buckets:

  • Information stored on your device — the data you enter and your progress (see below).
  • Information you choose to submit to AI features — the text of your CELPIP-style Writing and Speaking responses, when you ask for AI grading.
  • Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated data about how the app is used, to help us fix bugs and improve features.

On-device storage & no account

Most of what you do in Canadify stays on your device. This includes your CRS calculator inputs and results, saved draws and notification preferences, CELPIP practice answers, and your progress. We do not require you to register, and we do not maintain a user profile tied to your identity. If you delete the app, the data stored on your device is removed with it.

Information you provide

When you use the CRS calculator or PNP tools, you enter details such as age, education, language levels, and work experience. These are used only to compute your estimate on your device. When you complete a CELPIP-style Writing or Speaking task, your response is stored on your device so you can review it.

Please avoid including sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers or health information) in free-text responses.

AI-powered features

If you request AI grading for a Writing or Speaking task, the text of your response (and the task prompt) is sent to our third-party AI provider to generate a band estimate and feedback. This processing is necessary to provide the feature.

  • We send only the text needed to grade the response. We do not attach your name or contact information.
  • Our AI provider processes the request to return a result and is contractually restricted in how it may use the data.
  • AI output is an estimate and may be inaccurate. See our Terms for details.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which features are used and to find and fix problems. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. It may include app events (for example, opening a screen), device type, app version, and general region. We do not sell this data.

Subscriptions & purchases

Paid subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status from Apple so we can unlock features, but we do not receive your full payment-card details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Push notifications

If you opt in, Canadify can notify you about new Express Entry draws. You can turn notifications on or off at any time in your device settings. Notification preferences are stored on your device.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of reputable providers to operate the Service:

  • Apple — app distribution and in-app purchases.
  • Cloud & AI providers — analytics and AI grading of practice responses.

Each provider processes data only as needed to deliver its part of the Service and under its own privacy terms.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties except: (a) the service providers described above, acting on our behalf; (b) where required by law or to protect rights and safety; or (c) in connection with a business transfer, subject to this policy.

Data retention & deletion

Data stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Text submitted for AI grading is processed to return a result and is retained only as long as needed for that purpose and to maintain service quality and security. Aggregated analytics may be retained in de-identified form.

Children's privacy

Canadify is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

International users

Canadify is operated for a Canadian audience. If you use the Service from outside Canada, your information may be processed in Canada or in other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.

Your rights

Because most data is stored on your device, you control it directly — you can edit or delete your inputs in the app, or remove all of it by uninstalling. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, or deletion) regarding any data we process. Contact us to exercise them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page.
